The Commodore Format Archive is the result of over eight years of work dedicated to bringing you conversations with the writers you love and the stories behind your favourite Commodore 64 games from an era in the machine that is so often overlooked when its history is told.

But the work never stops! We constantly update and refresh the section which contains  a page for every issue of CF, exploring each month of the mag with links to a separate cover tape feature, the subscriber newsletter and more. These pages are being overhauled monthly with new images, info and made, well, better. It’s the ultimate guide to the C64 mag you love, with behind-the-scenes stories, gossip and analysis. Plus, of course, links to every CF!

We also bring you features like the recent story of Hi-Tec, the unusual history of Hungarian games on the Commodore and the definitive series dedicated to the misunderstood C64GSOur most popular piece from the last few months has been our interview with Bod Squad creator Kent Murray, who spoke for the first time about how CF and its readers changed his life!

If you enjoy what we do and you’d like us to do more, please consider a one-off or recurring payment to help keep the site running. You’ll be credited in the site hall of fame!

You will help to keep alive an archive of a magazine and era of the Commodore 64 that is loved by many but is often overlooked.  We don’t have a monthly Patreon anymore; I do this site and the socials for a passionate love of the topic and give my time for free. If you like it, please consider chucking CF a quid or two. We have over 2,000 followers on social media, and tens of thousands of visitors a year to the site – we only need a small handful every year to make CF pay for itself. No clickbait, no nonsense. Just great C64 stuff. And it’s thanks to you. Neil Grayson, CF site editor
