As we celebrate  25 years of Commodore Format – and to remind you of the way we were when the magazine launched – here’s every single number one song from 1990!

Topping the charts in the week CF arrived was The Steve Miller Band’s The Joker, which isn’t really much of an indicator of life in 1990 at all. It was initially released in 1974, but was a best selling song again 16 years later because it appeared in a Levi’s TV advert.

Best selling record of the year was another oldie – the Righteous Brother’s Unchained Melody, which featured on the year’s big movie Ghost. And here are the rest…
